Back on blog track. This is our last day in Ho Chi Minh City (lovingly coined HCMC), Vietnam. We stayed at a great guest house in district 1 run by a really nice family who helped me coordinate calling and making dinner plans with family we have here. Leigh and I spent the evening at their house in district 3 eating the most amazing vegetarian meal I have ever had. Fresh mushroom salad rolls, fried corn fritters, mushroom & tofu hot pot (spiced hot with tons of red pepper), handmade soy milk and soybean pudding set cold over caramel sauce. Meeting family has been the best part of visiting Vietnam. It’s a huge, crowded, noisy place. We feel like live action Frogger every time we cross the street. But the food & coffee is amazing, the shopping has been fun and we enjoyed being big city citizens for the week. And I took two more cooking classes! Ready to take on the aisles of Fubonn like a champ.
